Thursday, November 16, 2023, was indeed a very joyful day for Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu as the seminary was graced by the esteemed presence of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province. Representatives from Enugu, Nsukka, Awgu, and Abakiliki dioceses joined in this annual tradition, which brings so much joy to the seminary.
In his welcome address on behalf of the entire seminary family, the Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Albert Ikpenwa, expressed heartfelt gratitude to them, emphasizing the anticipation the seminary holds for their annual visit. He thanked them for their unwavering support and love towards the seminary. Afterwards, the mothers introduced themselves, each of them offering words of encouragement to the seminarians and priests working in the seminary. The mothers also generously gifted the seminary with an abundance of food items despite the hard economic clime in the country.
The student representative, Mr. Humphrey Nwachukwu came forward to appreciate the mothers on behalf of the seminary community for their material gifts and moral support to the seminary. He equally asked the mothers to always keep the seminarians in their prayers while also promising them the continuous prayers of the seminarians.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Godwin Orji said the closing prayers and also gave the final blessings.
