The Bigard seminary family played host to the Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. Dr. Callistus Onaga on Wednesday, 25th November, 2020 as the inaugural prelate of the 2020/2021 inauguration of the academic and formation year.
In the Mass of the day, which was presided over by the Bishsop, he reminded the students of the need to continue to imbibe the formation of the seminary with joy and hope. He enjoined them to eschew every form of ostentatious life style and to embrace discipline and simple life style.
He narrated the challenges of the Covid 19 and the adjustments it has brought into the seminary system and indeed the world at large. He commended the formators and students and encouraged all to remain steadfast in our collective efforts to preach and live the gospel of Christ.
At the end of the Mass, the rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Albert Ikpenwa thanked the Bishop for his sacrifices and availability to the seminary family.
The bishop was gifted a spiritual bouquet and he in turn gave the seminary a cow and a token to support the seminary.
The mass ended at 8:35am and all departed joyfully.
